Iachinu Fili's district

The «Parco antico Iachinu Filì» (Antic Park of Iachinu Filì) is located in Iacopo Filippo's disctrict, one of the most beautiful rural areas in Campobello di Licata's territory, less than five kilometers from the urban center, in an almost barycentric position among the communal territory. The «Parco antico Iachinu Filì»'s area is a narrow limestone ridge with an Est/West trend, extended to approximately 1,5 ha along Iacopo Filippo's torrent. In the area, numerous Bronze Age tombs have been individualised, especially from the castellucian period, of which some have been reused during the next byzantine occupation of the site. The castellucian settlement probably arose on the next homonymous hill, recently almost completely destroyed by an agricultural excavation, characterized by steep sides and a plateau at the top. Further traces of achaeological findings, castellucian ceramic fragments in the so-called Naro-Partanna style, were also identified at the bottom of the western side of the bench. During medieval or post-medieval times finally rises the rural building which is a typical example of rural achitectures in the area. In the area, various typical crops can also be observed (pomegranate, azarole, carob, pistachio, fig, Indian fig, olive, almond, sage, rosemary, beans, etc,...)
