EVS
Information and enrolment
You want to become an european volunteer?
How to participate:
Proceeding under this section you'll be able to know which are the participation requirements for the European Voluntary Service, what you need to do in order to participate and which is our formartive proposal.
The participationn requirements are simple:
- to be between 18 and 30 years old (deadline for the effective start of the activity before completion of the 30th birthday)
- to be citizen, or to live legally in one of the countries of the European Union
- To want to invest up to 12 months of your own life living abroad as a volunteer (watch the attachment file Fundamental Rights an Duties of an european volunteer).
In presence of these few conditions, everybody can leave; But individualising the project for the single volunteer can take some time, that's why it's necessary to considerate immediately, two more fundamental requirements:
- A strong motivation
- The disponibility to wait even for a few months before the effective departure.
Where can you enroll:
To participate to the EVS it's necessary to individualize a sending organization. In Italy, there are various associations which are involved in EVS. The Archeoclub d'Italia, seat of Campobello di Licata is the organization which currently takes care of sending the european volunteers.
What are the times:
Indicatively, the waiting period before the departure may vary from four to six months because of the burocratic times that the European Commission requires for the project's pursuance on the one hand, and because of the preparing times on the other.
In adition to this, once the project individualized and the positive response obtained from the hosting organization, rigorous deadlines are previsted within which the request to the Commission must be officialized.
This period, even if it will initially seem pointless to you, will allow you to get materially and psychologically prepared for your departure.
All the participating costs to the EVS are in charge of the sending and hosting organizations.
Synthetically the expenses covered foreseen by the Youth in Action Program are:
- the travelling costs for a round-trip ticket;
- the insurance for the whole duration of your staying abroad;
- the food, the housing and the pocket-money (it changes depending on the country) for the whole duration of the project;
- the possibility to take part to training seminars
- the socio-linguistic trainig
