How to conduct an archeological research
The objective of the activities is to make the visitor interact, indoor or on the field, with the different phases of an archaeological research and with the main research methodoligies of Survey and/or scaving, through direct experiences, simulations, frontal lessons and also through tri-dimensional models about reconnaissance activity for the analysis of the 5 levels of land visibilty, about achaeological scaving and about the different traces left during the various historical periods.
The methodologies for the treatment of artefacts are also shawn, as photography and archaeological drawing, consolidation and preservation of artefacts. During the laboratories is investigated in particular the so-called Stratigraphic method, showing the difference between the archaeological layers according to color variations, texture and composition.
The other section indeed shows the elements of archaeological interest found in Campobello's area where, during the passed years, were conducted long archaeological research activities that led to the discovery of more than one hundred archaeological sites, which chronologically start in the transition phase between the late Neolithic and the antic Bronze Age.
The participants will also learn to ricognize artefacts and sites from the greek, roman and medieval period.
The laboratory offers the opportunity to experience the archaological research, showing both the most current research methodologies in the fields of survey, scaving, achive research, achaeology, architecture, stratigraphy reading, cataloging, typological analysis, archaeometry; datation systems and chronological indicators: C14, dendrochronology, thermoluminescence, etc,...
The laboratory, which is essentially didactic and interactive, includes a section about methodologies and another one about cultural elements of the territory.
