Context
The Camps of Kalat project are developed at the rural countryside of Campobello di Licata,
founded as a feudal village in 1681. It is one of the most interesting archaeological areas in Italy, near Agrigento.
This area was for centuries dominated by Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Swabians, Angevins and Aragoneses.
There are numerous churches and palaces, mainly built in a typical form of Sicilian Baroque.
For its central position in Sicily, it has always played an important role in the ancient civilizations. The area is rich of monuments and archaeological places, and there are many sites dated from Bronze, Roman and Arabic age.
